Ehh... I was never really a fan of McCartney (big Beatles fan though!). Had a few nice basslines, but its not his basslines that he is remembered/known for.

Generally speaking, I think you're correct, but wasn't Paul McCartney on the cover of BassPlayer's best selling issue ever??

I think his basslines are what most bass players remember/know him for.

Yeah, he is definately known as a bassist to bassists. I think generally though to those outside of our elite circle of bassists he is known as a songwriter, and simply a Beatle.

Bass player wrote a nice article about how Paul started playing, who his influences were ect. I think it said his main influence was Jamerson.
