Paul McCartneys 5 String Rickenbacker Bass

Don't know if he still has it or not (depending on the source, PM has five or six Ricks), but that is a rare lefty 4003SPC Blackstar five string. I wanted to use that shot in the book, but the photog/agent wanted too much money for the privilege of free publicity.

Mr. Boyer I'm so glad you decided to come out with a book on the history of the Rickenbacker bass.... It is long overdue. I will be sure to get a copy once it's available.

Mr. Boyer, your book is fantastical. Finally we have a book dedicated to the craftmanship of the RIC bass. This is my 1995 4003S. I did custom work to make it look like a 4000 model. Custom pickguard with single Bass Volume and Bass Tone knobs and a Joe Barden bridge humbucker.
