Why do I have a feeling that this is going to happen, if it hasn't already? My Cirrus Tiger Eye is, by far, the BEST bass I've ever owned. What's more, is this quote that I read from Feb of last year:

Yes, I've owned some G-V's, but can you IMAGINE a full-blown, graphite-necked Cirrus??? :woot:drool

I already made a thread about the Cirrus being sorely missed, and Hartley doesn't seem to really care about his company anymore. :crying:

Yeah they are going down the tubes fast. They should do one of those reality TV shows like 'Undercover Boss' or something to give them some exposure and show that that the folks running Peavey are truly compassionate people that know what they're doing. I see no downside in doing something like that, it can only be good for Peavey as there's no possible way they could screw that up.

Funny you mentioned that, as I simply type in "Hartley" in the search field, and one of the first threads was Peavey having been on this show already, believe it or not. It's also supposedly not as stellar as we would've hoped.

FYI That was hardcore sarcasm on his part - they made themselves look like total garbage.

Yeah I thought I laid on the sarcasm plenty thick :) Peavey's ineptitude on that show was pretty much the only thing was discussed here on TB for a good while.

Only for the new stuff. The may be all well messed up as a company at the moment, but they've certainly had some good moments through the years as well.

I used to think they were not total pieces of poopie either... boy did they prove me wrong.

If your a 1% and can empathize with the uber-wealthy and their faux concerns, then you might really enjoy the episode. At least one TBer jumps to mind...

I still love the company and I will not let a badly scripted reality television show alter my opinion. The very fact that they produced some great and very reasonably priced gear in the U.S long after others jumped ship overseas will always outweigh anything else in my book. If I were Hartley I may be bitter also because I would think about all of the money I lost by not sending production overseas decades ago because it's obvious that producing quality affordable gear in the U.S meant absolutely nothing.

I've been using a Tour series head for years now (if you look closely at my avatar, it is the bottom unit in my rack) and it has never acted up in any way. Unlike the SVT-3-Pro it replaced, which was quite creative in discovering new ways to malfunction. Just one person's experience, but it's been exactly what I wanted.

I certainly hope not I have been playing Peavey amps since the begining. On the show Hartley said he was retiring and passing the reigns to Cort I have to say that might not be a good idea but I think Peavey as a brand will continue and hopefully he learned a thing or two about employee relations

Gear now is *not* gear in 1977, I'm sure. I've had a few Peavey pieces since and they weren't bad - just not my cup of tea. But there is *zero* disputing that those old amps (bass or otherwise) from the '70s were awful - and they left a very bad impression with many people (not just me, I'm sure!)

Kind of a shame really, since I feel the product of an artist/engineer should be judged by its own merits, rather than those of the creator. I don't care if the Beetle was formulated by Hitler, or that Ender's Game was written by a homophobe, or that the director of Neon Genesis Evangelion makes fun of the fanbase - just like I don't care whether Hartley is a jerk when playing the magnificent T-40.
