Hi fellow low-enders here is a wee update..... iv'e recently updated my cabinet to a TVX 4x10 and intend adding another one to make it 8x10 here is a picture of my rig at Friday's gig.

I've been keeping my eyes peeled for a 410TVX or two; if I didn't already have a matching pair of 410s, that would be a huge priority for me. I'll bet that rig works great. The Mega pushes tons of air with a pair of 410s. In fact--you've inspired me. I'm gonna gig that rig this weekend.

Hi Steve,

as you will see from the photograph there is no mike and I'm not DI'd. I said to the soundman about this and he said I was loud enough....if you look at my volume I'm just on and no more :-)

I seem to be getting a preponderance of lo-mids from my Mega... I want to use it for dub-reggae and that's not quite what I'm after- I want cleaner lows with less of the mud... might this be because of the cabs I'm using an SWR Basic Black combo (modded for use as a cab-only) and a basic 2-Way...

Granted we know that the graphic eq seems a little bit limited down in the low end range...

**translation: Those basses would sound a lot better with a much more expensive setup that will break down at the worst possible time, but they would have a better name than * cough* "Peavey" that will work like a horse and seldom leave you up a creek.

Well I'd like a number please??? Now a little story. Bought my Megabass in 1988 and for my formative years playing rock/punk originals I was pushing it through a GK 115B, old school cabinet (the pink and blue label one). I sat my Megabass down for a number of years, bought a MarkBass 210 and was playing rock/blues/variety with a number of bands.....Joined a rock band late last year and was using the MarkBass with the 2 10s and the GK 115b below, but wasn't getting the stage I needed. Soooo......Went back oldschool. My Peavey Megabass head is going to be biamped, My GK 115B, with a new 15 NEO speaker, is being accompianied with a new GK Neo 112II. Never ran biamped before.....will take a photo this weekend and post and let you know how it sounds!!! (Post Gig Report - I got kudos and it did sound awesome.....)

I played a MB for the first 10 years of my career. My concert rig is in one of m photos and my neck thru Dyna Bass in the other. My live rig was pure POWER !!!
After a show in South Miami my MB head was left outside, OVERNIGHT, through a torrential south Florida storm. When I got it back I tilted at least a quart of water out of it. Obviously I was devastated. I started shopping new amps but had a band meeting a few days later. I plugged it in and it played like nothing had happened. I was in absolute shock........until the day I let it go it played flawlessly. A true bass baptism!

What band? Where in S Miami? I grew up there in the 80s...

Ahhh, The Good Count Bassie !
The Venue was Washington Square
The bad was Lyrics For Lunch.
It was the time of Marilyn Manson, Dore Soul, Mary Karltzen, Nuclear Valdez, Saigon Kick etc. A remarkable time to be in a band in Miami for sure.

No fooling, I'd heard of you guys! I was never a major scene-maker, but knew/saw/heard of all those bands. Connections go way back in that venerable locality... I was in The Volunteers around '92 or so, a Celtic-patterned original rock thing. We played Churchill's Hideaway a lot. Nice to hear of the Miami scene again.

Ok, so I tried doing an internet search for what these amp weigh, but I couldn't find anything. Could one of you guys let me know what yours weighs. In the past I would not have worried about weight, but I now have a bad back.
