Peavey MiniMega 1000

Now that I just acquired THIS:

used (& discontinued) AMPEG PR-410HLF- 4 Ohm, 600W cont, 1200 peak.....

I want one of THESE:

I'm hoping it will combine the best of old and new, resulting in the tone I've been searching for so far.

I do already have a "classic" Peavey Megabass amp, which shall be the power source for my "new" Ampeg cab for the near future. I've been following the TB Minimega threads since January with great interest, and up til now, I haven't had a cab that could handle this kind of power. While I am certainly looking forward to this amp, I am willing to wait until they are readily available.

From what I've seen so far, no one else is making anything like this with these features and power at this price point.

ABSOLUTELY worth the wait for me. Well done, Peavey!

If you do pair those, just be careful. The Minimega will have enough power to turn that cab in to ash in short order.

Not to worry, at best I'm a "home studio" (read: Living Room) player. At my age, coupled with multiple back surgeries, I've got no business lugging a 128 pound Pro Series Ampeg cab out of my house! Should my execrable talent improve well enough to play with others outside, I'd probably be looking at the new lighter weight Peavey 112's and 1516.

For home purposes, I wanted to hear powerful tone at lower volume. I'm hoping I can get away with that using this combo.

For those of you not wanting cosmos, the Headliner 1000 (which is going to be released before the MiniMega) is using the same power section.

That's the one I'm still interested in. I'm a rack mount guy.

The local Peavey rep came out to our last show (Peavey was a sponsor) and he didn't have any info on when the new amps were coming.

He DID say that he was going to invite me and the other Peavey faithful over to his house to check them out when the time came, plus BBQ and beverages.

Talk about making the wait even harder to endure....

So i ended up having to drop out of the waiting line for the Mega... My old GK bit the dust 2 days before I had to play a show and I ended up getting a GK MB500 for cheap off of CL... I was really excited about this amp to...
