We all have different perspectives on things. To me signal processing is signal processing. The end product is the result of good design and implementation, not whether it's done through a digital circuit vs. an analog one. All amps are processing the signal in some way or another...or you'd have a box with some plugs and a volume knob...and even then many of them are massaging the tone in different ways, and seldom am I too precious with the how as long as the end result sounds good. This feature IS a great thing to have on a micro, as I've pointed out. Many people are using smaller cabs which don't have the same low end extension. The "Kosmos C" will provide the lows in those cabs, and it will be a freeing thing for a lot of people, whether it's done through ones and zeros or if it's done through an analog circuit.

Many of these ideas are fairly new to bass amps, although implementations have been using in pro sound for decades now. Take a look at a live board at a reasonably sized club and then ask if they can please make sure your DI in the house is analog only. ;)

I actually read it as 'snarky'...which it was too, but that's the way I am.

Either way, I think we're all arguing about how good this amp will be. :)

I really hope it:

-Actually comes out.
-Lives up to the hype
-Is the game changer I think it could be
-Brings a wider acceptance of SMPS/micro amps
-Successfully implements the features people are talking about
-Can bring what people expect from a 1000w amp
-Overcome some of the basic problems people have had with micros (shutdown failures, etc.)

Waaaaaaay back in the day I use two 1820's.

What is a 1566? Is this a new cab Peavey is allegedly introducing? Links?
