But I'm running an old Peavey amp with it...like the kind that would have been sold with it, I would imagine.Probably asking too much from an old , low wattage 15.
So...no rush was over the weekend. I found a NOS 15" basket for a bit over a $100 shipped. I swapped out the baskets earlier this week. I think I see the problem with the old one -I'm probably still going to replace the basket for the old driver, but now I can just kinda do that whenever, no rush.
I certainly hope I wasn't that someone...Yup, somebody had unrealistic expectations for that driver.
I went a slightly different route -Yo Defin, you have blown 2 now? As someone who used to blow JBl D-140s back in the day I know why. Too much power ie playing too loud for a single scorpion to live for long.
I saw above in the thread you suggested that the head shouldn’t blow the speaker because the head is also an olde peavey. But it would either have been paired with the much more common 215 cab or Two of the cabs you have.
I’d get another one. Still cheap out there and then you would have a proper stack for loud music and look boss at the same time.
