I'm actually a guitarist and just got a peavey tmax head. Its rated at 500 watts at two ohms and I have a 4x12 2 ohm cab rated at 400 watts. Am I gonna blow the speakers if I take it easy on it? Thank you for any input.

If you use it widely, no, you won't. That cab will take a lot of power.

Its an old crate cab with carbon 100 watt speakers.
