Peavey TVX210 issues

Great forum, I've learned quite a bit so far.

Recently I purchased a clean, Max 450 bass head with a TVX 210 cab from a pawn shop for $300.

It seemed to play just fine when I gave it a test drive, I didn't turn it up all that much, but at rehersal I turned it up more (gain 5, vol 5). It sounded kinda weak, when I looked at it while playing, I noticed only only the left speaker was thumping and not the right. I put my ear to the right and there was a faint sound coming from it but no where near as stong as the left. The speaker doesn't flutter, can't really feel much vibration while playing, its just really weak in volume.

I'm not familiar with this setup and before I open it up, I was hoping for a few suggestions.

To make sure, one old trick is to attach a nine volt battery to the input and see if the speakers move the same amount and in the same direction.

If one speaker moves and not the other, or it only whimpers, you might need a new speaker.
I'd say you got a pretty good deal on it to begin with, so a new speaker ($70 - $100?) isn't too bad.

The speaker could be dead or it could be as simple as the wire has fallen off the speaker inside the amp. I would look there first. If it is attached, you can read the speaker with a meter to see what ohm reading you get.

Wow that was fast, I posted the same message on the Peavey forum and got nothing, nada, ziltch...

Looks like my speaker is toast, so I ordered a new one.
