Sounds like they need a new marketing head.
From all that I've read here on TB, every USA made Peavey is as good or better than other mass-produced USA made basses, but it seems like the only people who know that are Peavey bass owners.

Not to derail the Millennium thread into a long critique of Peavey marketing fiascos, but...
Don't forget the USA amps. I love my BAM 210, another vicitm of Peavey's, 'been there, done that, what's next?' attitude. With regard to that amp, the WYSIWYG interface alone is still light years ahead of what any other amp modelling company is doing. And they built them in the US, not China. I'm glad to see that Peavey hasn't given up on modelling with the VYPYR out now. Hopefully that will trickle downrolleyes
to bass soon.
Surely, there has to be some balance between Fender and Gibson's reliance on decades old products with little to [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] and Peavey's reluctance to let any model (save the Cirrus) have time to gain its footing and find its loyalists. Ibanez is one company I can think of that seems to find a good balance of standing behind their existing models while continuing to innovate.
Seriously, other than the Cirrus, is there any product in Peavey's current line-up that was introduced more than ten years ago?![]()
Anybody here ever replaced the pickups and preamp in their Millennium with another kind? You know, like Bartolini's and an NTMB or Audere?
I might be committing heresy here but I'm pretty sure the MM/J pups in my Millennium are the same dimensions as those in a Lakland 55-02.Only the stock three-band (Cirrus) tot eh 3 band with mid-sweep.
Hey, if you wanna try it, I'll trade you a Seymour Duncan 3-band for your Millennium pre with mid-sweep.
Lemme know!

Thanks! I'll do that when it arrives!Well, I've got a 55-94 here...why don't you send me the measurements on the Mill5 and I'll double-check for ya.

How does the soloed MM pup on a Millennium 5 compare with a Stingray 5?
I'll try that blend amount. I remember using a 70/30 blend with the one I owned before but I want to learn to maximize the MM.I don't think they sound much alike...and that's a good thing. The Mill 5's MM is well-focused without being "nasal" or clangy. I usually use a 30 / 70 blend for the optimal voicing. YMMV.
BTW, I don't know if its intentional or not but you have one of the spookier avatars on the forum. If that's actually you, please don't procreate.

Regarding the blend thing, MM does indeed V.
Is my avatar less spooky now?
