Pedal board Connection Question

I am in the process of designing a new pedal board for myself and was browsing online for some ideas when I came across this.

What type of connector/connection is this person using on his board? It looks like something that has been screwed into the pedal. Just curious, thanks in advance for your input.

Those are just right angle pancake plugs. Forget who makes them.... someone will chime in. The tiny screws are attached to other side of the plug not the pedal.

All kinds of cables used to have those ends. Especially the curly cords. They're crap.

There are plenty of those pancake plugs that are crap, but they certainly aren't all. You just have to watch what they give you inside as far as the solder terminal goes. On a lot of the lower end ones, the solder terminals are practically nonexistent so mechanical failure rate is high.

Thanks, I guess it's just something to consider. I think that these connectors help keep the board looking clean and are good for directing wires underneath the main planck that the pedals are on with an angled pedal board. Are there specific metals that you should use when soldering a wire that will direct an instrument signal?

Buy some right angle switchcraft ends.

Standard, decent quality instrument cable is just fine.

Really? Just last week I bought a dozen of them and they all shorted out when the back plate was put on. Maybe I just had bad luck.

Every one I have ever had was a piece of crap. Even the old Vox coily cord I had was a piece of crap.
