We were setting up for rehearsal this week. I was all good to go and warming up quietly, but drummer was runnng late and the two guitarists were bent over a pedal board that wasn't working properly. Every time the rhythm guitarist kicked on a pedal he lost all sound. Lead guitarist had his glasses on and his torch out, and they were working through the pedals one by one testing the power supply for each one and checking they were plugged in right. No matter what they did, same result. The pedal board had been stored away for a couple of weeks at the lead guitarists place and they started running through all sorts of scenarios about what could have happened to the board while it was locked in a cupboard. I just kept noodling away on my bass. Half an hour went by like this, with increasing frustration and heightening nerves. Nothing worked. Everything was unplugged and replugged twice. Except that noone checked the amp and the guitar: they were plugged into the wrong ends of the board.
