Pedal Board question…or 2

Hi, All!!
I don’t often post on the forum, mostly buy and sell.
So, just got into a new band and I will actually get to use some of my pedals. I have a PedalTrain board (small) and have a tuner, Boss Flanger, Boss Bass Chorus, Boss Octave, EHX pedal and a compressor. Where is the optimal place for the compressor pedal? I am thinking last in chain?
Second question…suggestions, pleas, for bass wah-wah. We are doing “Living on a Prayer” and want to emulate as best as possible the talk-box sound.

I like my compressor first but everyone is different. Just put it where it sounds best to you. There are no rules.

Ok…thanks…logic being “feed the other pedals your compressed signal, which is how you want the raw/natural signal to sound”?

I expected to want to use my comp first, but its threshold was fixed and a little low and I was using old school single coils, so it just became a noise machine for everything else. Moved it to the end of the chain, and it's still a little noisy but does its job way better, especially if I wait until I'm plucking notes to turn it on.

It might have been beatiful up front with humbuckers, but that's not what I use.

Try it around, see what happens.

I always thought the bass was clean and talk box effect was on the guitar for that Jovi song. But look at the Aguilar filter twin. It can do up and down sweep simultaneously and can really get a voice box sound because of that. Plus it’s my favorite filter anyways.

It’s best to try all pedal configurations to see what sounds best to you. My compressor is at the end of my chain because I use it as a limiter to tame spikes from and even out other effects pedals.

Thanks, SLO Surfer! You are correct about Bon Jovi song. But, our guitar player won’t buy and doesn’t have a talk box so was thinking I could add some “color”. I will investigate the Aggie Twin filter as recommended!
I read a review of some new bass wah, I wanna say it was a Stanley Clark signature pedal? Will google “best bass wah-wahs”…
