Pedalboard nightmare!

I bought this pedalboard thinking that the price was great for a powered board. I should have remembered that you get what you payed for. This thing quit after five gigs. The mechanism used to attach the pedals to the board are worthless as well. Anybody else buy this piece of junk? Just wanted to give my fellow TBer's a heads up, don't go cheap and buy this atrocity!

I imagine most of us are using velcro to attach pedals to boards. It's only worth using screws or cable ties if you know something's there for a long tour or something like that, and I think very few of us are keeping pedals for that long (or doing long tours).

I've had bad experiences with these and Gator boards at work...I always try to warn my customers too! "Get a Pedaltrain, you'll be sorry!!!"

They always come back begging for forgiveness

Sorry, I didn't word that right. I meant when they were purchasing the Gator/MG board, I'd tell them to buy a PT or they will be sorry

I'm making my own pedalboard because I can't understand how they make a glorified suitcase cost $150+... Maybe velcro is really expensive due the economy...

I think this is a case of you win some, you lose some. I had this exact board for a year or so then gave it to my guitar player who is still using it. I thought it was a decent cheap board. BUT i did grow out of it and it doesn't take long. Especially with the likes of people in this forum

Yeah, that was a short way of saying the crappy strip of velcro that has adhesive on one side and velcro on the other that you cut and stick to the bottom of the pedal. Just keeping it brief as I assume that we all know how the pedalboard works. The power supply part of the board is what seemed to have failed. When I plug it in now, it doesn't get any power.

I've been using a Gator board and PSU for 2 years without a single problem. It's heavy and that annoys me but I can't imagine a pedaltrain board giving me any other benefits than being a bit lighter.

I thought you prided yourself on being an atypical Guitar Centre till jockey?

Hey - if you've gotten away with the Gator w/o problems that's great - at least somebody got their money's worth out of them. But yea - PT and Voodoo/T-Rex/BBE power supply - the way to go...

Have a gator rackbag also,it is suprisingly durable.Gator makes quality gear.

IMO if you're lugging your own gear (like most of us) there's no point in paying over the odds for industrial-strength gear because there's no meatheads throwing it into trucks on our behalf. Just us, loading into cars, carefully.

I'm not sure if you're aware, but sometimes better things are more expensive.

sometimes not indeed, but there's no reason to suggest that just because an item is more expensive, means it's overpriced and not as good.
