Pedals you wanted ...until you tried them.

Darkglass VM

Did not sound natural to me at all. Just wanted a slight break up and some hair on it...ya know...vintage. Surprisingly found exactly what I was looking for in the Amptweaker Bass TightFuzz. Incredible pedal that's extremely versatile.

Boss SY1 synth pedal. It has a lot of cool sounds that I’d never use. I spend hours going through all the settings, but I’ll never use it. Everything I tried sounds farty.

Barbershop. I see this pedal come up a few times. What did you replace it with. I’m looking to replace mine.

what do you mean by farty? As in just sounds wrong ? I keep going back and forth as to whether to get it... even if I get one decent sound out of it then it’s worth it right? Considering I’m a set and forget once I dial most my pedals in anyway...

Most of the sounds that I produce are cool on their own, but won’t work for me in a live situation. Just by the nature of the synth sound, it has a distorted sound (check out the sy1 YouTube videos) A lot of the sounds that I liked would get lost when playing with a band. If you have a chance to try one out, you really should before you get one. The music stores in my area didn’t have one, so I had to order it in. I spent a long time on the synth threads to see if this would be something I like. I wanted something that was easy to set and I liked this one. I didn’t really want to spend a lot of time with an interface (laptop) setting up the different sounds. IMHO this pedal has so much to offer and it is easy to use if you want a synth pedal.

yeah I’m into more using it in the quiet parts of my band and after the more effects / distorted type stuff... I was going to run it into my distortions anyway if it didn’t get distorted enough! Being easy to interface is my big take on it, might listen to more demos today!

Damnation Audio MBD-1. its huge, needs its own dedicated or isolated power supply, and the sound was just meh. I know a ton of people love it, but never did anything for me. sounded better having another fuzz going into it, but its sound/real estate value is pretty low....

I love mine despite the size... of upgrade to the mbd2 if it wasn’t so much effort but at least they did the size thing well!
