I had the exact same experience with the Pig, except there was only one setting I could find that accurately emulated the notes I would play. For the price, it wasn’t worth it, and I very much love the Dirty Robot!Pigtronix Mothership 2. A lot of random cool sounds but just to hard to shape the sound I have in my head.
I sticked with the Digitech dirty robot.
Catalinbread Bicycle Delay: I loved it for a few days but it spends too much time in crazy land and can't double as a normal delay. Very creative pedal but didn't suit me needs.
Source Audio C4: The best tracking and sounds I've ever experienced out of a synth pedal, but I don't think anything out there can de-thrown my Moogs and my OC-2.
Honorable mention of a pedal I did not purchase but had the opportunity to try at Chicago Music Exchange: Original Maestro Brassmaster. This was probably the thinnest sounding fuzz/distortion I've ever plugged a bass into.
DBA Fuzz War for me. I really like the tone of it through my rig but it has an insane volume jump that makes it unusable for me. I wish there was a bit more travel on that knobDeath By Audio Soundwave Breakdown. Not my kind of crazy.
Yep.....I just sold my 3rd vmtBoss OC-3
Dr Scientist The Elements
Barbershop
Empress Multidrive

Darkglass VMT (I’m on my 3rd one because I’m convinced I love it, but rarely use it...sigh)
My gear evolves, along with my tastes...some pairings end up being less favorable...I move on to the next pedal (or a previous discard). Bass pedals are rarely available in music shops here, I rely too much on video reviews...usually a mistake, but not always
Exactly how I feel about the Diamond BCP-1.I’m convinced I love it, but rarely use it...sigh
