Pedulla MVP-5 Value

I have a 1998 fretless version of the same bass in the same finish and with the same electronics. It is a killer bass with unique looks. Most people that buy the bass get the fretless version so they hold their value a bit better than the fretted ones. If I were selling the bass you listed and if it was in mint condition I'd be asking about $1300 and be willing to drop to $1100. Since you're buying I'd recommend you start at $1000 and see if he bites but I don't think I'd pay much more than $1100 for it. If it were my bass and in mint condition and you offered me $900 for it I'd be insulted or just assume you didn't know the real value of these basses.
If you do buy be sure to get the hard case and the truss tool (it's a special tool unique to Pedulla basses). Also check the finish very carefully for peeling or chips. Pedulla uses a very thin coat process on their finishes and sometimes it does chip easy. Also if it's not dead stock, look elsewhere. People buy these basses because of the way they sound so if any of the electronics have been modified it will be worth a lot less (kinda like modding a Stingray or a Warwick, just don't do it).

there is near mint buzz just like mine in vancouver going for 2400
i realize this isn`t a buzz, but these basses go for an a**load of money new
these are rare in canada-they just don`t come up on the used market very often.

I suppose in different markets there will be different market prices. In the US market the used Buzz 4, 5 and 6 strings fetch the highest prices. The MVP's are great basses and have that same distinctive look and a fantastic sound as well but for some reason they just don't bring in as high a resale as the fretless version. I've looked many times over the years at buying a fretted version of the Pentabuzz (the MVP5) and have noticed they typically sell in the $1000 to $1300 range. Do a quick check on ebay completed listings and you'll see the typical sale prices for these basses.

So it seems the jazz pickup was too low, I had it looked at and raised and this sounds mucho better. Simple things sometimes we overlook.
