Pepsi Throwup

This might be a bit sad, but upon hearing that there are a couple places in Texas that stuff use cane sugar, I was tempted to eBay some Dr. Pepper from there.

$30 for 6 bottles.

I mean, I didn't do it...but it was tempting. Still is. So is the thought of Dr. Pepper barbecue sauce.

Real DP from the plant in Dublin, TX is AWESOME!!! But if you drink it, you'll never be happy with regular DP again.

Cherie :)

Speaking from a kitchen standpoint, cane sugar makes a better grain, and cooks better.

But that don't affect the taste of sodee! Once you've cooked it, sugar's sugar.

Cherie :)

I understand. One possibility is that different brands supply different grain size distributions.

By the time sugar gets into its pure solid form, it's been cooked a few times. It's hard to see how a sucrose molecule in a vat remembers whether it came from a beet or a cane.

I had a bottle of the "throwback" Dew the other day, and I didn't like it. It tasted "diety". I applaud Pepsico's attempt to make soda less "evil", but it's still soda! If I'm going to do something "evil", why not go all out instead of "diet evil"? I giggle every time I see a fat kid eating a greasy burger with a Diet Coke. I want to roll down my window and yell "HEY! YOU'RE LIVING A LIE!"

Ok, too much Mountain Dew before bed, I'm getting too old for this ****!

I found the first couple of sips seemed strange as well. Almost had a diet pop after taste. But by the time I got to the end of the bottle...and another bottle the next day....it seemed really smooth. I think it will take alot of people a bit of time to get used to sugar after drinking HFCS for so long.

Cheers,
