Kinda like mine except I have a chrome control plate, black brudgeI voted "black", which is my go-to (see below), but I cannot help but wonder how it would look with a simulated carbon fiber.
I cannot say when, but one day, I suddenly realized how much I like this look…go fig!

I REALLY like the way the pickup covers match with the neck.
I have a pair of those matching headstock OT Jazz Basses and I had to leave them both original except for Gotoh lollipops. They're too nice to mess with.I had a Black Moto on my us Geddy. looked Great!
I have a Avantguard Tort on a CS ocean turquoise Jazz.
(if the Geddy was a real '72 - I'd go white)
Both of these are great combinations.

Your understanding is spot on.Solid black (with white trim).
However, not the pearl black for me though. The red tort or even the plain white would be preferable (to my taste). White pearloid could be good…
From the choices you gave, since "black" seemed likely to be linked to black pearloid, I voted "red" (meaning, if i understood correctly, red tort) in your poll.
Main thing is, make yourself happy (of course).
However you decide, rock out with it, and rock on![]()
Same.Of the 3 options, the black pearl.
However I'd have gone for plain black if I had the choice.
Those covers look really good on that instrument. An earlier comment mentioned them and my initial reaction was "too late-70's" but it really does tie things together in a way. Aesthetically pleasing to me. Easy to swap, too. Thanks for the pic.
