Yep that C# makes that part.

You know, I listened to it a couple of times on the way home from work yesterday, and he really only hits it once or twice. Basically the line is a whole step slide from C to D. He does it so quickly that you don't really hear the note in between. When Owen first learned it he was playing the C/D slide on the A string, which sounds okay but a little "clean." Hook plays it all on the E string (back then and last Friday). Here's the famous video:

Thanks, everyone. This is a nice trip down memory lane. Everyone was so cool during this episode. Hooky's tour manager, the members of the band, and even the management at The Metro, who let me bring a 10 year old into their 21+ show and keep him there through the whole show.

We sat in the back of the VIP section next to Billy Corgan, who sang "Love Will Tear Us Apart" with them that night.

I looked at my photo archives and found this photo of Owen sleeping between the opening act and Hook's performance. There's also a YouTube clip of Hooky telling the crowd about Owen. It was a fun night.

Hooky says to the crowd: "He's up there with his dad... because he is the future. And he f&#king played it better than me it was most embarrassing. And he's only 10."



A really nice guy!
