ok Ive tried everything on that list and dont reccomend them, lolDon't forget these contributors to his sound: Wine, vodka, Prozac, Tylenol P.M., cocaine, depression, sadness, paranoia, and hopelessness.
If you lack these, or combinations thereof, your attempts will sound thin and counterfeit.

Alembic fernandes, fernandes custom, washburn
Me too, even just the sustainer unit from a Fernandes would be awesome, but from what I see its next to impossible so I will just have to settle for a sustainiac....however, I have met a fella who put a regular guitar sustainer by Fernandes in his bass, and it does work...but sustainiac will make it for your bass, as long as its the right bass for it.
Looks to me like they do exactly the same thing, wich would pretty much make them sound the same.....only difference being they make a Sustainiac for bass and the only Fernandes sustainer available is for guitar, although like I said, I met a guy who put a regular fernandes sustainer on his bass and it works, but they cant gaurantee it so they will advise against it....I really wish Fernandes would make bass sustainers and release them in the U.S.There was a Fernandes bass with a factory installed sustainer on ebay in the last year but there was another bass higher up on my list I was gunning for. The price was near 2K and I was hoping it would be there for a while. It was there for only a few weeks. I might have saved some pictures of it.
I love the way TON uses the sustainers, its like a signature. The bass that PS had looked like the perfect setup, its actually what set me on the path with Fernandes. I play guitar but I am a bass player and I never heard about the sustainer system. A friend of mine had an E Bow but thats another story.
I was able to find a few MIJ Fernandes guitars and once I started getting the hang of the sustainer, I just kept saying to myself.. "where the hell has this thing been my whole life!"
Then I was like.. "Steve Vai, you're a darn dirty fraud!" -Perhaps not in those exact words..
The green revolver with the floyd rose has quickly become my favorite guitar to play but I didnt like it at first. The one on the opposite side I got first. It was never played by its first owner who kept it in its gig bag since the 90s, so I dont play it. I actually dont know what the model is. It looks like a dragonfly but its MIJ. I think it might be AGP. If anyone knows please let me know. Aside from PS, I only saw one other guy using a sustainer on a bass, he had a crazy custom w/a wammy I think.
I also passed on the sustainer bass because I figured it would be a better option to have a sustainiac installed on a really nice bass, this one was a Korean model with factory sustainer.
Ive been thinking about having one installed in an SB Elite II BNG that Ive been saving to have my way with. What is the difference between the sustainer and the sustainiac as far as function, sound, etc??
