PETITION - Firmware Update to the Zoom B3

Edit: Well, another zombie thread I guess, and I jumped right in. Thought this had something to do with Zoom giving away updates of effects to nearly every other of their units than the Zoom B3, guess I was wrong.

Will sign, and do hope, though I don't see much of an objectively realistic chance of Zoom throwing us a crumb for owning their outdated product.

Why would they give us any what so ever reason not to update, if only by the slightest, to the new Zoom B3n, and basically potentially loose that extra income?

Zoom has discontinued the B3, yet the support offered is still available. The firmware 1.20 updater does not officially work for Macs beyond OS X 10.9.5 (Mavericks). I can however report, that firmware updating under OS X 10.11.6 (El Capitan) is nevertheless possible and has worked flawlessly.

As annoying as it may be, and no doubt leaves customers feeling neglected, is it really fair to expect a firmware update with new features for a discontinued product? They want people to spend money on newer products. Offering free updates to previous models so you don't feel the need to upgrade isn't a great business model.

However, from what I understand, there's a few effects missing in the new b3n that were in the b3. I do think it's fair to expect these to be migrated. Afterall, Line 6 have done just that with the Helix, by adding their legacy effects from the M series free of charge to their new flagship devices.

Part of the early selling appeal of the B3 was possibility of future software updates, further frustrated by the fact that a significant update was done for the MS60B and other pedals. Players like myself even offered to purchase an update at a reasonable price for those updated sounds, to which Zoom responded with resounding silence.

In everyone's defense, this thread and petition was started 4 years ago...following a significant software update to the G3, MS60B, and introduction of the cheaper and more cheaply-built B1, which had greater capability. There was no real reason why Zoom couldn't offer an update. They chose not to.

PS - don't expect Zoom to migrate B3 effects to the B3n. Zoom is not Line 6.

I do miss some of the features of the B3. Bigger screens(aging eyes), USB audio interface and several of the amp sims. I didn't jump on the B3n straight away as @CharlieC and @jimfist md others can attest ( I was using a GK Plex) but even I, Mr. No Effects guy found the 3 effect limit...well, limiting? My aging Bass Pod Xt can do an amp/cabinet sim plus 4 effects at a time. Maybe the MS60B outsold the B3? They do have to make $$$. I do like what Line 6 did with their legacy products on the HX effects though.
Let's all raise our glasses to what's coming next?
