Phase, Polarity and some craziness...

Hello all! I recently got a crazy idea in my head for pickups for my Ibanez SR500. Essentially I want to stick 2 jazz pups into each pup rout in it and make each pup (total of 4) tap-able. I have a couple of questions for the great minds here to ensure that I don't have any phasing issues or anything else.

What I plan on using is two DiMarzio Model J's and two Squier J's. I'm sure it sounds weird using that combination but I have my crazy reasons. What I want to do is stick one of each into a single cover. Because the DiMarzio's are split coils I am unsure if phasing will be an issue and what wiring setup I should use to combat it if it still is.

My other question is Polarity. Is there a trick I should be using to make sure they don't interfere with each other while packed into a tiny cover? My intention is not to wire them as 2 humbuckers. Even though each pair will essentially be making one pickup the only blending I plan on doing is with one pup from the neck and one from the bridge. The end goal is to have two volume push/pulls. I hope this makes sense.

Or am I completely off my rocker wanting 4 pups in a bass built for 2? :p

when you say "tapable" you mean going to one coil and essentially going single coil??? Or do you mean series parallel? I've heard of stacked coils being tapable but can that be achieved with split coils? I ask because I'm looking for a split coil for the bridge position to compliment my Wilde P-46. Not finding any commercially available split, not stacked with series to parallel switching capability.

A little clarity...

My Avatar is the bass in question so you can use that to see the platform I'm working on.

I can't see a problems, basically you want to use one of two pick ups in the neck and one of two in the bridge. I don't see a problems in that, but I've never tried it so would like someone to say OK go for it, as well as I'm 90% sure it be OK, but I have been wrong a few times

PS I'm off to bed its 11pm and I'm up at 6am
