Phaser Pedals That Preserve The Bottom End

I'm looking to get a phaser pedal but I need one that can preserve the bottom end as that is what my band is all about.

We are a Drone-Doom band that tunes to A and I play through a Sunn 300t and a Marshall JCM 800.

The important thing is will it preserve the bottom end as well as sound good going through a EHX Big Muff? Can anyone help or give suggestions? I've been looking at either the Electro Harmonix Small Stone, Red Witch Moon Phaser or the MXR Phaser 90. Does anyone use any of these?

Don't overlook the Subdecay Quasar. Yes, the ass of your tone shall be preserved.

First, +10000 on the Subdecay Quasar, its lows are deep and mighty. Second, there might be one or two threads to read on this subject...

I gotta add that the MXR Phase 90 (about $80) is a very dependable phaser and for me at least, absolutely silent when turning it on and has NO background noise. I love the thing.

If you're looking at EHX, opt for either the Nano Small Stone (which has no volume drop and ROCKS on bass), or the Stereo Polyphase (which is flexible and even offers some cool expression pedal and envelope modes). Both have no low end issues.

I'd definitely do more research here in the Effects Forum on each of these choices.

Thanks for the advice. I did look at the other threads on the issue, but none of them, at least the ones I managed to find, really mentioned about whether they kept the bottom end. I'll check out the Subdecay Quasar.

I briefly had a Maestro Stage Phaser. BIG huge pedal, and it seriously gave me a bass boost. Of course, I don't know how the phasing actually sounds because the thing didn't work (thanks a lot, Guitar Center...). But I'm sure that if it actually did, it would be awesome.

So I guess if you can find one of those, that might be a good bet.

How's that Marshall on low end ? It has almost no low end crunch on g****r in my experience...and I get to hear that every week at band practice from my g****rist haha.

How much $ is your limit?

Too bad yours was broken as the Stage Phaser creates hugely thick phase tones. The old DOD Phasor 490 is a really bass centered phaser too.

I would reconsider the EHX Big Muff as it seems to loose low end (IME).

Unless you are using the Bass Big Muff, that is...

My small-stone reissue has beautiful phasing but it DOES lower the gain and kill some lo-end.
using a line selector which mixes wet\dry signal as in a 2ch mixer kinda settled that for me..

Stereo Polyphase. It has now low end loss, and the range of the phase sweep can be adjusted to affect only the highs, only the lows, or whatever you want by adjusting the start and stop knobs

I keep thinking I need a different phaser with more options but the Small Stone Nano sounds great.
