Apologies for going off topic, but now the U.K. is no longer in the EU, I’m hoping The Doublefour will be updated to accept DC input which would allow use of a battery pack. If this issue was resolved I would guess the unit would be a lot more popular in the U.K.

Re the Bass Cub Pro, from what I've read, (in layman's terms), the speakers are the same but the amplifier's more powerful, yes?

The bass cub Pro is 120 watts, where the Cub II is 110 watts. The main difference is with the Pro you can add an extension cabinet that will bring the wattage up to 240. This is what PJB support has told me.
The Cub II needed the Active cab PB 300 to as an extension cab, which has been discontinued.

Does anyone who owns the Cub Pro (BG-120) have any experience to compare how it sounds vs the Double Four (BG-75)? I'm torn between the two and most interested in using for rehearsals and possibly gigs with small jazz combos. I know the Double Four could be challenged in that scenario, so would the Cub Pro be enough of an upgrade to justify the much higher price?

I've had mine for about 10 months now. The tone is very clean yes, but somewhat "frosty" to my ears. Compared to a GK MB 200 head or my Double 4 it is not as round and warm but is still full sounding. I am still "dialing in" a sound I like using the broad EQ. It is lightweight, portable, powerful, good looking, and able to have another cabinet plugged in to augment the sound. Where this amplifier shines is in its articulation of what you are playing. You will hear each note of your bassline if you listen carefully. That, IMO, is what makes this amp worth getting.
PROS-Lightweight, Powerful, Articulate, Provisions for an external Cabinet to Augment the sound
CONS-If you are running a battery and converter for off the grid gigs it requires a lot of "juice" to keep its punch.
