Just a guess, the Bass Whammy is blue.

Maybe, I know he used to have the soundman handle the octave effect...Maybe thats his modern solution.

I havent tried a BAss Whammy, I tried a regular whammy with a bass, it tracked pretty fast as i remember (as an octaver)

Phil is a pretty cool guy, I'm actually surprised he doesnt post here.
I'm going to send off an email (not that I know him personally)

there's an older blue Digitech pedal (i bought it around '95), the same size as the gold Space Station, that has many choruses, rotary vibes, panning, flangers, trems etc. maybe that's it?

If memory serves me... i recall seeing photos of him using a BP200 that was mounted on a rack.

phil does not use pedals at the moment and really never has, ive had conversations with him about pedals as recently as last month. he borrowed my pedal board over the holidays while i was traveling. i know he uses a Rocktron Blue Thunder rack mount effects unit - it is blue! maybe thats what you mean.

heres a picture of my pedal board with his rig from a couple weeks ago. yes there is a blue bass whammy on there, but im guessing thats not what you mean b/c he wasnt using that. he was more into the compressor. ha.

OK,Phil is definitely using some type of pedal at least in these Feb 2015 shows.
Maybe not every gig.
