As promised, here's a couple of new pics. I've sharpened the carve a little more with a kick ass new tool. Now I need a bigger compressor, the damn thing is running constantly when I use it.

I sprayed a wash coat of lacquer on the top to look at what the final result will look like. It didn't work very well, within a minute it was all soaked up inside the wood The dark spots are the remainder of the lacquer.

There's no howto in the FAQ for continuous wood control cavity covers. How'd you do that so smoothly?

i just cut into the back, before i glue it, and have the cover also be part of the edge, instead of the normal way.

It's an air die grinder with a 2" disc sander attachment.

The air powered die grinder is compact and light compared with electric tools, which makes it easy to move around with when working on carves and get into tight corners.

It's also a very quiet tool on its own. If you have a good sized worshop compressor that doesn't cycle every minute. At this point I don't though, so its damn noisy

I'm looking constantly for pro level jigs and setups, pictures and videos of manufactures and all. I just discovered this thing recently on both the Youtube Roscoe videos and on the Brubaker Luthier DVD set. If its good enough for these guys to do carves with I figured its time for me to upgrade

Die grinder is a good tool. I use an electric one as my compressor is to small to use with an air one and way to noisy. My main compressor which I use for spraying is to far away to use.

I've never seen an electric one with a 90 degree head. Is there such a thing as that?

The new bigger compressor is now the first tool on my tool list. When I get it, it'll be also used for vacuum clamping, gluing and I want to get more air tools too.
