Phone call to Ibanez - facepalm

I went into Radioshack and asked if they had a 500k potentiometer... Eventually, I found it myself and the guy said, "Oh! The spinny knobs! Why didn't you just say that?"
Its easier to not train employees anymore, and just fire them when they mess up now. I went to our radioshack, and none of them knew about half of the things I wanted including: potentiometer, thermal grease for a pc, soldering stuff.
I was at a loss for words that the guy knew of nothing on my list. I can understand one or two of the things, but I had a pretty basic list of like ten things and he knew about or where none of them were.
I see Ibanez customer service still sucks after 25 years after my one and only dealing with them. Like you, I couldn't find their number anywhere, but the guitar repairman I went to gave me their number. I called them, asked my question, and the reply I got was, "How did you get this number?"
I told him, and he said, "Well you're not supposed to be calling this number. This is for dealers only."
I replied, "So what number do..."

I called back and cursed him out and told them I would never spend another dime on "crappy" (I used a different word) Ibanez products. Ibanez does not care about their customers, never have, never will. It's a shame because they do make nice products for a reasonable price, but their CS is the pits. Absolutely godawful and shameful. I urge those of you considering an Ibanez product to forget about it unless you want to be left in the cold.

I was setting up my ATK last night, went to loosen the truss rod...an 1/8 of a turn later and pop. The rod is stripped on the end about the last 1/4-3/8". The crappy truss wheel on makes contact with about that much anyway.
So I got to looking and ended up on Stewmac. They have a truss wheel that has a much longer shank. I bought it and went to Home Depot and purchased a 5/16" by 2" tension pin. I'm going grind some cutting teeth into 1 end and put the other end in the drilll chuck. This will allows me to expose more of the threads on the truss rod so the new wheel will have something to grab onto. I'll keep you posted on whether or not it works. I think it just might.
Edit: I forgot to mention that I verified that the truss rod is 10-32 just like the wheel that Stewmac sells.

I verified 10-32 as well. The previous owner carved into the end of the neck to expose more thread and stripped that as well. I have one idea that I will try before pulling off the fretboard. The current rod is obviously not effective if this many people have stripped them. I do like the tone and the neck feels great, though.
