Phonotom @ München - very cool location

Dear TBers,
I missed to report few gigs we did over the past weeks, but this location was way too cool to not write about it.

It’s a ship (a real ship) lying over a bridge in the city of Munich.

The load in required to climb some stairs…. Thanks Mark Bass 😉

The place is really nice: it’s basically a patch of trees in the middle of the city, with several stalls selling food & beverages. People grab their food and find somewhere to seat.

The ship offers several tables “under a roof” in case of bad weather (not so rare in Germany). And there is also as bar inside.

In the middle of all this, there is a stage for the live band.

The stage was large enough to accommodate our band.

I continue my double duty on bass and backing vocals, also introducing the songs together with our singer: we are getting use to this and we are developing some routines. It helps to keep things flowing.

All in all a good gig.
We stopped at dawn (Munich police is very strict with noise regulations) and enjoyed the view.

Sorry for posting so many pictures of the location, but I found it really special.

Thanks for reading so far!
This weekend we’ll play in a small village south of Munich.
let’s see how it’ll be, but it will be hard to top this location.
Ciao, Domenico

Was it a dancing crowd or more listening?

PS Sonnenuntergang is "dusk" or "sunset," not "dawn."
the crowd was mostly listening, not much room for dancing. Once in a while I saw somebody “walking at tempo” or nodding their head: that was the best we could get!

…. And thanks for the PS 🙈
It would have been a nice story if we would have danced the all night, from disk til dawn, but at my age that’s simply impossible,

Thanks again!
And … Servus!

Munich is one of the coolest cities in the world, with some of the friendliest people. It's actually better to visit now than during Octoberfest, when it gets too crowded and crazy. I made it a point of visiting all 8 of the major beer gardens 18 years ago when we visited for a week at this time of year. Each one is different, all are outstanding.
