I was thinking a similar thing. I pulled my fretless out today for the first time in months.

Though that Victor Bailey was another fantastic option.
The only thing about the Miller, is it only has 20 frets, and you wanted 22, but that ain't much of a deal. Bend!
I usually play punk or classic rock with a pick

I would love a MM jazz , every now and than i just wanna dig in with my fingers and play some funk my p bass has been very punk oriented modded and without a tone knob is not really funk material.

I wanted to play Tal stuff. I have no need for more frets for what I actually need my bass for.

But yeah, Ill put flats on my bass and foam for the Motown effect, halfrounds on my Geddy (already on) for rock/harder passages, and bright rounds on the Marcus for slapping and funky riffs.

But as of now, my calendar is:
1. Marcus Miller, or a new bass in general, most likely the MM.
2. Another cab, either selling my current one and buying everything over again, or adding onto my 210.
3. An iGig or something of that nature bag, as Im tired of my hardshell.. Plus, I need pockets.
4. I owe some money to René, or C'Thulu, and he is cutting me a break until Im fully done purchasing. Cool cat.
EDIT: And LC, if it is wrong, Im a naughty boy..

If you read my post, you'll notice I never said need once.I wanted to play Tal stuff. I have no need for more frets for what I actually need my bass for.
I said "wanted" which you did, and just re-affirmed.Thats how I ended up with more than half my basses, Fender Roscoe Beck, and Roscoe LG 3005 included.
