Photoshop Request II: A Few Requests More

Status
Not open for further replies.
Well....I do some computer programming.

If I were to get all the individual parts he uses, the bodies, necks, pickups, pickguards, bridges, knobs, etc, I could probably make a program that would let you just select the parts you want and it makes a pic for you.

I could also post the d/l link on RapidShare, so anyone can use it.

That way, Thunder would only have to be contacted with special requests, like non-stock pickup configurations.

Yeah, It's not like anything I've programmed before, but if he sends me images of the parts he uses in Photoshop, I can probably make something like that in about a week.

Or, I can screw it up miserably like my last program.

But, that was a tuner and metronome, soo....this seems easier.

I hope that I'm not stepping on any toes here, I know I'm nowhere as good as Thndrstk6 but ClaytonH's idea for his *ahem* baby at first horrified me but then intrigued me so I thought that I would take a stab at it. So while you're waiting for the real, actual good version from Thndrstk6 I thought I would put mine up just for sh*ts and giggles.

Again sorry if this is improper. Please let me know if it is and I'll take it down.

I love green Rics, but it kinda looks strange to me without the headstock.

PM sent.

In the meantime, I would like input on the program.

Drag the pieces together, so you can have different pickup spacing, different points the neck and bridge sit on the body, different knob placement, etc, or have them form together into a picture automatically for more convienence?

Pick already chosen colors, or use R-G-B to pick custom colors, although quality might be less?

Anything else about the interface I'm missing?

The more you guys tell me, the easier I can make a program people would like.

Alright...I can easily do click and drag.

R-G-B I never tried (maybe recommending it was stupid :P) but I can at least give it a shot. If not, the program will still be better than nothing.

I'll see what other people say, and I'll start on it as soon as Thunder sends images of the parts.

I guess I'll repost it here since my request got buried.

Hey thndrstk6, could you do a PrecisionBacker for me?

  • White P-bass body
  • Rosewood fretboard
  • Fender shaped head
  • Standard P-bass bridge
  • Rickenbacker bridge pickup, 1/8th of the scale length from the bridge
  • Black pickguard, with the concave part of the controls "curve" filled in

And maybe an alternate with an ashtray over the bride. :hiding:

Basically this, but with color changes and a P-bass bridge:

(My awesome photoshop skills. :hmm:)

It would be really neat to see, and I'd greatly appreciate it. :D

Bas(s)e it around this.

Well, as it turns out, Thunder replied to my PM.

Not just the pictures as a whole, but each individual part is made of multiple layers, so he doesn't have just one image for each part. The multiple layers are how he gets different effects on the bass, like reflective properties and such.

Since there are no single images of any one part, I'm not sure if TB Bass Creator will be a reality now, but I'm still gonna see what I can do.

Sorry guys....
