I used to have an Ibanez SR900 that I got rid of. I'd like to get another but they are discontinued now, and hard to find used in my area (I won't buy it if I can't see it in person). I liked everything about the SR900 and don't mind buying used, so what else out there has all the features (low action with no buzz, narrow neck thru body, 34" scale, lightweight, flat woodgrain finish, active electronics, $800 or less). I like a real bottom heavy sound, and play flatwounds, and pedal with my fingers pretty fast with a medium to light touch. (Steve Harris is an influence).
Also, what's the difference between active electronics and active pickups? - when someone says a bass is "active", is it one or both?
