disclaimer: i am not attractive in in the least and am usually ignored in favour of better looking ladies, so any dude that uses a line on me either gets an incredulous stare (from me) or a loud guffaw (from me).

That little discourse was like watching ballroom dancing on a floor of marbles.
I think you need to get past this negative self image you have. You forget that there's a link to your band's MySpace page in your profile and we've seen what you look like. Your band is full of cuties including you.
Not to mention that being smart and talented boost up a woman's attractiveness a lot in my eyes. While I'd say I'm a prouder man than Maki, his assertion that there's something beautiful about every woman is right on the money. And you've got more than a few "somethings" about you.
Oh, and I believe I've mentioned this before, but I really dig your band's music.

Sadly I have to report that neither was used in earnest.
However, here was an unintentional line that "worked" in a manner of speaking. As a general rule I'm not attracted to preening, high maintenance women. So in college I was unintentionally ignoring a friend of a friend who fit that mold. She then made it her goal to constantly get my attention which I found annoying making an interesting little back and forth. Especially since I didn't think she was genuinely attracted to me, but just wanted to prove she could get the attention she wanted. Finally, (a bit drunk) I tried to brush her off a bit rudely by saying, "women who think too much of their own looks are always terrible in bed."
It would be a better story if I could say she proved me wrong, but she really didn't. Good for bragging to friends I guess, but hardly memorable. And I still was a bit repulsed by her personality.
