Well, back in those dim dead days a *lot* of inspiration for other builds was found in Ferraris...
Even, GM took styling cues from Ferrari. I can't recall his name (Bill Mitchell, perhaps, not to be confused with my friend, Bill Mitchell, who's family owned the best chocolate shop in town?), but an old styling exec owned some.

Excuse the photos, they are pictures of pictures. My 1965 Chevy Impala Super Sport. Built sort of on a GI's budget back then. Was originally a 283 3 speed on the column. Later became a 327, 335 Hp engine wise. The old style dual point distributor. 780 Holley 4 barrel, Headman Headers, Chrome reverse rims, Hurst Synchro lock shifter.
