Pick your favorite iconic car from any decade....

In stock trim that 500 cube engine in 70 and 71 churned out 425 horses and 550 ft/lbs of torque at 2800 rpm, and the engine was 100 lbs lighter than a 454 Chevy engine was.

We screwed one together for a 77 Blazer with 44" Super Swampers. Engine was .030" over, forged pistons, mildly ported heads, Edelbrock intake, roller rockers and a custom Mike N 800 cfm Quadrajet. On pump gas, thru the mufflers weighing nearly 8,000 lbs and standing 9' tall it ran 15 second quarter mile times. The engine peaked at 5,000 rpm but it tore your head off getting there.

A buddy of mine bought a Holsum bread delivery truck at an auction for $400 and turned it into a party van. He transfered a Caddy 500 engine into it. Not an easy swap, but he was dedicated to the concept. We had a kitchen table and 2 sofas plus a lazy boy inside.

We parked it on the beach almost every night.

And the GT was refereed to as the mini-vette.

I always thought the GT was a better looking car than the Corvette of the same era.

By '67 the Corvette had reached perfection IMO. Then the a-holes at GM ruined it in '68.

Lotus Elise in an usual Ukrainian village.

I thought the '68-72 vettes were the epitome of cool. Then they took away the chrome and the downhill slide began, IMO.

I've always been partial to the Mustang. I lost my dad back in November, and when I was a teenager we always talked about getting me one to work on. 25 years later I got one. '67 in raven black. 289 with a 2 barrel and auto trans. And it runs! It's in the shop for good once over, but I hope to have it on the road soon.

Sure is!
Back in the early 80's I had a Civic with the 5 speed. Just barely big enough to haul my bass gear. Seriously fun to drive. My drummer used to call me "Parnelli Jonathan" :D
Not this one but one very much like it.

The first "brand new" car I got was a '76 Civic CVCC, in that loud-ass chrome yellow with 5-speed and "houndstooth" cloth interior. Paid $4400 for it. It had the worst imaginable torque steer, but of course only when turning in one direction (can't recall if left turn or right). Another thing I found odd was when the headlights were on the turn signal stalk would get so hot I expected the plastic to melt. Hated that car, kept it for a year then bought a truck instead.
