Sounds like Ford to do that. Not that they are alone in this though, for road cars.
The spoiler is not for looks as it is very functional. Basically, an upside-down airplane wing putting addition downward force on the rear wheels to keep from breaking loose. Makes sense to me.
Again, I understand the purpose of the spoiler on a race car. The Bernoulli principle and all that. And I also understand that race cars don't necessarily need to look pretty. But that doesn't change the fact that it could have been integrated into the design better on such an expensive car.
That particular car is a mildly upgraded stock F430 that was part of the Forza Ferrari Challenge series.
I've got a 65 Impala SS in the shop. Total resto that I'm putting the final touches on. It's a real SS car with upgrades...... 540 cubes under the hood, TH400 with a trans brake and a 12 bolt rear. Cleanest 65 you're likely to find anywhere and it's a meticulous build....

Engine was on the dyno before installation..... made close to 800 Horsepower on pump gas.
That's impressive! Do you have videos om youtube? And what are the engine specs?
No videos. I came into this build at the end for some final assembly details.... alignment, bleed and adjust the brakes, hang the exhaust etc....
Engine was built before I got involved. It's a 540, Brodix heads, big azz Holley carb, full roller valve train but a low enough compression ratio to run on 93 octane pump gas.
