I've seen one the street when I lived in L.A. in the '80s, and I also have black & white transparencies I made of one on display at the L.A. Auto show (that was cut in half longitudinally) when the 959 was first introduced.

I miss the 67 Chevelle SS 396 , A great car from high school days.

This is not it, but a pretty good representation, add white Shelby stripes and a red leather interior, Drag the engine thru a bucket of chrome, add a Q ball shifter and we are there.

A roommate of mine when I lived in Cincinnati in the late '70s had a yellow one of those. We played in a top 40/Disco band together that did Holiday Inns and Ramada Inns (fives set a night/six nights a week) throughout the Midwest and some of the South, as far down as Gulf Shores, AL.

I think that's a fantastic looking car. I can't get into the much more common fastback types.
