Pickup covers for NP4

I have a Nordstrand NP4 in my Pbass deluxe. Great pickup!

Anyway, does anybody know if the Fender 57/62 Pbass pickup covers will fit these? The one's that came with it are too large for the Fender pickguard holes, and enlarging them is a pain in the butt. Appreciate any info, thanks!

If the pickups wont fit the pickguard, they wont fit in the fender covers either.

Enlarging the pickgaurd openings is easy if you have a router and template.

I have a dremel, but is there a place where you can get a template for a bigger than Fender sized P pickup?

It's plastic, so you should really use a larger router and a ball bearing pattern bit. I like to use laminate trimmers which are a bit larger than a Dremel, but hold full size bits.

That way you double stick tape the template to the pickguard, in the correct position. It helps to use a router table, but you can clamp the pickguard to the edge of a bench or table so it's sticking out, and carefully guide the trim router while supporting the pickguard with the other hand. You might be able to use a Dremel pattern bit, which has a smooth section, if you take you time and dont run it too fast.

Whay kind of tools would you use to open up the pickup openings on a gold anodized guard, if I wanted to go that route?
