Anyone else experience pain when really digging into the D and G strings from the bridge position on a Jazz bass? I can generate an almost slap-like sound by really aggressive finger style plucking, but damn! I’m not a huge fan of the smooth P/U covers on classic instruments such as Js and Ps but find my style of play all but begs for them. Changing my my position slightly seems an obvious choice but that changes the tone and alters the springiness of the strings in a critical and adverse way for this technique.
