Picky...

For graduation this year, my parents plan on buying me a bass and I have a Fender Precision on my mind. Problem is, I'm that one super picky guy when it comes to colors. I need a look that you could see barreling out downtuned riffs at a stoner/doom show yet chugging along with a few jangly, shaky-voiced musicians at an alt. country show. suggestions??

Black with rosewood fretboard, and replace the stock pickguard with a black one.

picture isn't mine (and it isn't a Fender), but you get the idea.

Try a Fender Roger Waters signature bass. Black, black and black with an all maple neck and a SD QP pickup.

Alternatively, if you want to be a bit more flexible, give a Yamaha Attitude Bass a spin. The Billy Sheehan signature is really one of the best P-bass inspired instruments out there!

White with a tortoiseshell pickguard always looks stunning, to me. Elegant and sub-zero cool - it would suit a stoner/grungey band, and would look like something beautiful and precious in an alt-country setting.

Natural with a black pickguard would look very "stoner", and it would have an earthy, organic vibe in your alt-country band.

It's a nice decision to be faced with! Enjoy the search, and I'm sure that you will love the guitar!
