One of the issues I've read about is darkening of the tone. If I'm removing the volume pot that should help? I than have the choice of grounding the blend or not?

All good mate, neither am I. I'll be curious to hear how it ends up as it's not a wiring that I've tried in this passive PJ (have had a blend in a active Ibanez PJ in the past). Keep us posted.I'm not arguing with you if you know something that I'm not aware of please share. That's why I'm asking.
