My Squier PJ parts bass, made up of:

Squier Vintage Modified Jazz 70's neck, satin finished, original owner put the Fender decal on
Squier Vintage Modified PJ body, CAR
Delano PMVC 4 FE/M2 Precision pickup
DiMarzio Model 'J' Jazz pickup

Upgraded the pots and jack, installed a bone nut, and changed the wiring to a 3 way pup selector/master vol/master tone.

The tuners and the bridge are still original Squier parts, although I'm tempted to change out the pegs for Hipshot Ultralites, the bass balances fine but it can't hurt to get something a little that's a little more solid for tuning though.

Comes up as 8lbs on a bathroom scale, maybe a little more but under 8.5lbs definitely. Really good, aggressive tone, but a lot of clarity, especially from the Delano. Cleans up very nicely, too, deep, punchy lows/low mids and very clear highs.

What started out as a bit of fun putting an instrument together, in a colour scheme I liked, has quickly become my #1. Unfortunately, I really fell in love with it about 2 weeks after buying an L2000, which has so far been overlooked for every gig in favour of this PJ!

I'd like to put together one similar in the 3TSB & LPB colours from that body range, too, especially if they're all this light.

All right, so yeah...
I've um, been slacking again.

But, I've gone back thru and found the neu.
Good looking P/J's gentlemen!

Sure, although if its a close up of the route your after I can take that too.

It's got a Fralin PJ set with the bridge 5% overwound and HB. Never had the '57 pickup sorry, only the body. But here it is

That is beautiful.
I think all the "sunburst + tort fan boys" are off their rockers.
Nothing better than sunburst and black!!!

What neck is on there? Looks very nice. I can't bring myself to route my AVRI57 but I do have another hot rod PJ with a fralin set on its way.

It's an American standard Jazz neck. Yeah I don't know that I could do it to a complete 57RI but this was really a parts bass built for that purpose. The body came up cheap, was a 2 tone burst (I'm not as big a fan of the 3 tone) and us nitro so I jumped on it!

Agree! I've got a tort guard for it too, slapped that on with a bridge cover, foam mutes and flats recently for an acoustic gig, but had to go back to black afterwards.
