What, an Aerodyne? Why? They're not particularly expensive. I could understand holding off on buying a Fodera till you're good enough to give it justice, but this is a bass you can find used for about $500. If you want one and can afford it, get one. They're great basses.

I'm a true beginner and just got my B-50 a couple of weeks ago. I actually really like the LTD and it is a want and not a need. When I'm suppose to have an Aerodyne due to bass karma, it will happen!

It used to be a Honeyburst Am Special. This is the first test fitting, with new bridge and pups.

BTW, that's not a "relic" job. It's prep for paint, and re-working some contours.

Yes, very sweet looking! The cream pup covers and tort guard turn that thing into a real beauty! Rarely like a satin look on a bass, but this would look killer with some satin tung oil. Man, the colors just pop in a good way!

I used cream DiMarzio pups (with chrome poles) for a kind of 70s-80s mod look, and I was using that spare tort pickguard just for test fitting. I was planning to paint the body a solid Dakota or Seminole red in nitro, but I have to admit, I had second thoughts when I saw how it looked all put together.

And now you've got me tempted to try something similar to the original Honeyburst color.
