Anyone else wanting a number just say the word!

In my reign as admin there will be but two rules to comply with in order to become a member:

  1. You must post a picture of your bass with a PJ pickup configuration, any body style is acceptable.
  2. You must ask for a number in the post (no need to send me a private message). If you post a pic but don't ask for a number, I'll assume you don't want one.
All members are members for life unless they ask to be removed.

Hi there. I have a typical single coil problem with the J pickup on some of my PJ basses. They pick up noise. I love the sounds I can get from a PJ, but are there noiseless pickups that works, or are there other ways? I assume shielding is one way to go, but arent. most basses shielded with shielding paint anyway?

How do you guys combat your noise problems?

an SX P/J, 2 pc swamp ash body, maple neck w/ binding, modded w/ the ff:

tele headstcok reshape
fender am std tuners
sung-il bridge w/ fender mim saddles
vintage style control plate
Volume, Volume controls. 500k,250k respectively
seymour duncan quarter pound p
tokai bridge pickup
reverse P setup
screws from a vintage yamaha bass (like it matters)

strung w/ elixir strings (won the strap on a contest from DR, used em in the past)
