Playing live with just a sansamp?

Hey guys,

I currently own a Sansamp VT bass deluxe, and I was wondering on what I would have to do to use this for my live sound? When I record, I split my signal into 2 lines, one for my highs and distortion, and one for my lows.

How would I setup my sansamp so that I could still split my signal as I have for recording and use it the same way when I play live?

Do you mean that you are using the effected SansAmp out for your highs and distortion and the parallel out for your lows? If that's the case, you would do the same to the PA. If you need an XLR connection for the parallel out a simple 1/4" to xlr adapter or a passive DI box. The parallel out is low Z and can be connected directly to the mixer.

Will the parallel out have enough lows to cover my sound? When recording I use plugins and amp emulators to control the sound

I also have the programmable bass driver, and just send XLR to the mixer. Sometimes the blend is not on 100%, thus maybe on 50% so some dry signal goes to the mixer as well.
If you use the VT bass in order to overdrive the highs you can just split the signal before the VT bass. If I were you I would use the VT bass as a preamp/ amp emulator with only slight OD, and use an other pedal like a tube screamer to overdrive the highs.

"Enough lows?" That what depend on you and your guitar. The parallel out on both the VT Bass Deluxe and Bass Driver Deluxe is a buffered low impedance output. That means that the signal will be the same as your bass. It is flat response so what you put in you get out.

What I think I'm getting from this thread is that the OP wants the ability to "blend" the sound of the VT Bass Deluxe's amp emulated output with the sound of the DI bass. In essence that is what our Bass Driver DI is designed to do. It's easy enough to do as long as your sound man is willing.

The VT Bass is for the player that just wants the sound of playing through an amp. It sounds like the OP may have been better off with our Bass Driver DI or Para Driver DI if he wanted the ability to blend the SansAmp emulation with the DI signal. Whatever works though.

I'm am currently running 2 channels FOH board and I gotta say it's way better (IMO) than mixing or blending then going thru a single channel of the board.

Feed 1: clean bass going in passive DI only feeding subs (note some normal bleed)
Feed 2: sansamp BDDI at the end of all fx running thru tops (top EAW biamped with 2x15, 2x7 and something else)

I recorded the FOH with a tascam and overall tone was amazing, then when I kicked in dirt or what ever fx, it was like there were 2 instruments.
