I had a Ken Lawrence Brase 5 with a ramp and will be adding one to my current Brase5 soon.

For some reason, my MTD and Lakland 55-94 don't feel like then need one - spacing?

I have a ramp between the bridge and neck pups on my red Conklin. However since it "bridges the gap" between the two pups I've taken to calling it a "XXXXXX" RAMP

I have a ramp between the bridge and neck pups on my red Conklin. However since it "bridges the gap" between the two pups I've taken to calling it a "bridge" (links two points) instead of a ramp (begins at a fixed point but ends at an unfixed point).

Material (wood, plastic, acrylic) that is placed either between the pickup or the edge of the neck and the pickups that assist in playing.. Here's mine between the two pups

Mine's the same dimensions (length and depth) as the pups so it's like playing over one huge pickup. Good for me because I tend to anchor my thumb on the top edge of them (pups) when I play. The ramp makes it so I can alter my right hand position but still play in the same way (if that makes sense)...

roscoe beck had sent me an email when i asked him a question about his acrylic thingy...but i never did find out....is it safe to cut acrylic with a table saw or is it splinter/crack city?

Yeah I requested that bass with one. I like the cool laser engraved Conklin logo on it!!

Can't comment on working with the stuff though..

Oh, and congrats on your continued "non-smokiness"!!! I'm sure your future wife is really proud of you!!

I have a ramp (or bridge or viaduct or woody place to rest my fingers) on my Alembic. Its just a block of ebony between the pups.

I bought a piece of ebony years ago from stewmac and made one also between the pickups on my modulus, works great.

I just bought ebony so it matched the color on the pickups myself.
