I recently bought a Luna ubass as a project - the nut was totally jacked up. The existing strings also didn't really inspire anything in me, the sound was meh, it was an octave up from a regular bass, and the E string buzzed.
Switched them out for Kala roundwound strings, and they sound better, are the proper octave, and are not much quieter acoustically!
The only problem I'm having is there's very low output from the pickup on the E string but I think that's a problem with my pickup and not the strings.
