please help me decide

Hello everyone. I am currently looking for an amp to replace my Peavey Micro-bass amp. I basically want a combo amp that I won't be gigging with. Sound quality is more important than volume. That being said, I am looking for something around 75 to 100 amps. I'd like to keep it under $400. There is a guy local to me that is selling a brand new Rumble 200 for $360. That is option 1. I have been reading threads on here about amps I see in my price range and decided that option 2 is an Ampeg BA-112 V2. I received the usual Guitar Center sale email today. One of the items on there is an Acoustic B450 mkII. The thread I was reading on that one seems like it is a pretty good amp for being a "Guitar Center" house brand amp. That is option 3. I know these 3 amps are pretty different, but they all seem to get good reviews on here and are in my price range. They are more powerful than I need now, but will be more versatile should I need it in the future. So, the Acoustic and Fender are basically the same price. Which would you choose? How does the Ampeg rate against these two? Any other suggestions? I'd prefer not to buy used if I can. Thanks.

If the Fender is the v3 one, get that. Otherwise, play all three and choose your favorite.

The Fender Rumble 200 is a V3 and is 140 watts into the internal 8 ohm Eminence 15" woofer, and a full 200 watts when an 8 ohm extension speaker cabinet is plugged into the speaker output jack. They are excellent and retail for $449.00 Manufacturers Advertised Price, so $360 is a bargain.

I'm looking for something similar. I'd jump all over the Rumble in a heartbeat. Uh where did you see it?
I do kind of wish the Rum 200 came with a pair of 10's Like the 500. But that is a hell of a price. Is it new? Does it have the warrantee? Inquiring minds would like to know. Tell us if you decide not to get it.

Well, if light weight is important, the Fender is your only choice. Tone wise, the Fender and Ampeg are pretty different. You will have to choose the one you prefer. The Fender has a full, somewhat pillowy bass, with nice kids and a horn for highs. The Ampeg is a single twelve. I have no experience with the Acoustic, but at nearly 90 pounds you will have to really need the power or like the tone. It appears to be made to compete with the Fender Rumble 500. My guess is that your Peavey falls between the Ampeg and Fender tone wise.
