Please reccomend me a 2x10 cab

I highly recommend a Schroeder 1210L. They are LIGHT (40 pounds), *LOUD* (102 dB SPL 1 watt/1meter), and have some serious low-end that you'll miss from a regular 2x10 (this is a 12 + 10). They have about the same output as the Ampeg 410 (700 watts RMS - I should know; I used to have the SVT-410HLF).

They're about $820 from MF, but I'm head-over heels for my 21012L and can't recommend this highly enough:

ok well weight is not an issue it is more of a volume issue.

i will probabl choose whichever one is 4 ohm because i would like to have the extra power.

In that case, I'd say check out the Schroeder 1210R. $740 from MF, and much much louder than any 210 out there (Schroeders are very efficient cabs). 4 ohms, and 850 watts RMS! (102 dB, 1 watt/1 meter). They are 52 pounds. They are really designed to replace a 4x10 in terms of volume, but are not much bigger than a 1x12:

$800 is way out of the pricerange. if i had that much to spend on a 2x10 i would buy a Ampeg portabass. but i dont .. so i'm looking at good 2x10s that i could maybe find a good deal on for between $200-$350

Just a thought:
If you complete your profile and let us know your approximate location, It might just help trigger someone to reveal a possible 2x10 bargain for sale in your area... :)

^what speakers do DR. BAss have how do they compare with avatar. i searched avatar and dr bass the two seem to be controversial. i think i would enjoy a high-fi sound with warmer characteristics. this seems to be avatar's line of thinking. also the avatar 2x10 looks more portable and stuff.

could you say something like if you like Xsound get avatar if you like Xsound get DR Bass??

they seam to be about the same from what i search ont his site so if that is the case i would get the avatar because it is cheaper and lighter/smaller also it comes in orange! (but i think i read on DR bass that they have many custom colors for the tolex AND the grill but i think you have to call to get that information)

Mesa Powerhouse 210 sell used for about $300-$400 dollars. I know because I have bought and sold them.

Yes here it is. It's an 8 ohm cab.

He is asking $200.00 shipping included. Sorry, My bad. He is asking $180.00 I guess he dropped the price. Still a good deal and a really nice cab.

I don't know if it has the updated crossover. I bought mine new from Avatar in 6/06 it has the updated cross over. You wil have to check with him.

You can put 900 watts into it as long as you aren't running wide open. 95% of the time you aren't putting 3/4 of your amps full power into the cab anyway.

Do any of you have any thoughts (good or bad) on the Markbass equipment? Thanks to all...

The only Markbass gear I've heard is that 2x10 combo at GC, and it's pretty sweet, with a tight, punchy tone and flexible EQ. If I were starting from scratch, I'd consider something like that, because it's light and could cover most gigs I'm likely to play.

But a couple of years ago, I bought a G-K Neo112 cab for when I don't need a 4x10, and it's been great.

For the OP, you might consider some Eden 2x10's. They crop up regularly on the used market, and supposedly have huge low end for the 2x10 config. When I looked into 2x10's a few months ago, they were among the top contenders.

But you won't go wrong with Avatar for your purposes. I had access to a B210 for rehearsals for about a year, and as long as I kept the tweeter off, I really liked it. They've since changed the crossover for a smoother sounding tweeter, so the cabs are even better now.
