Please recommend a P pickup

i really like that Delano pup in the first video there, i've never heard of them before but it sounded great! that video also really confirmed that i need to get rid of my Dimarzio Model P from one of my basses.

This is the tone that I'm looking for. or at least somewhere close.

David Allen P. I'm evaluating it right now and it sounds a lot like the 1977 P Bass samples.

For reference I also have a Fender Original 62 and it sounds closer to USA 1998 or Japan model.

I have a franken P bass: MIM Jazz neck (rosewood), MIM P body (alder).
Model P is nice, however I find that it has too much boomy lows/low mids and not enough crunch/crisp in high mids for my taste.

What would you recommend?

P.S. to give you a better idea: - in this shootout, I like Dominger, Antiquity II, Fender - in that order.
I was also thinking about something like Lace, Delano - along those lines...

The Domingers hand wound a custom P bass pickup for me. great people! The tone is similar to the custom shop fender,only bigger and slightly warmer. reminds me alot of the early to mid 70's maple fretboard fenders. I'm very happy with it.

I was floored by the big pole Delano. Very versatile. Can sit back in the mix, somewhat vintage and thuddy, or jump up and get in your face.

Personally I like the EMG GZR Geezer Butler sig pickup. Rather than give you my impressions, I would direct you to look u a whole and very long thread about them, lots of good info there.
For myself, I really like the tone (won't attempt to describe it, I suck at that) and, with the solderless connection, it was super easy to install

I just bought one and dropped it into an old matsumoku P bass of mine and I am floored by the tone of this PU-
I am surprised by the high end to it; especially for a passive P.
I imagine one of these in my MIA fender P would be even better.

I'd drop in a Seymour Duncan SPB-1 or Fender Original '62. You wont go wrong. ....Set her up, add good strings. MMMMmmmmmmm!

I concur on SPB1 or Fender Original (that's the one I use). Cheap but as good as an expensive boutique stuff.

Well, damn, I'm pleased I just bought a used set of SD SPB-1! I wasn't sure what to get, but somebody had written a handy comparison / description chart of every SPB available. And then the next day somebody was selling a set for 30 euros. I also got a new Switchcraft jack and I'm probably going to buy CTS 250k pots (audio taper! Don't shoot! I know nothing, Jon Snow!)

So, nothing real to add to this thread, just wanted to air my good mood!

The SPB-1 and Fender '62 are tried and true, balanced P pickups. I have 80s EMG P pickups in a couple basses, they are for sure brighter.

I'm really happy with the SPB-1 I got. Before I got these I didn't realize how much you need high frequencies to get a good bass tone. Now I do!

I've used both Seymour Duncan Vintage for P (SPB-1) and Dimarzio Area P (DP250).

Both great and vintage sounding to me.

I recently put a Lollar in one of my P basses and couldn't be happier. It just sounds like a really good P. It definitely does the classic P gritty top end thing very well.

Try 500k pots with the Dimarzio Model P pickups, and maybe swapping out the strings?

The SPB-1 beats the Fender 62 in my opinion. The 62 is too bright without the low mids of the SPB-1
